Evolving organizations
How do the organizations of the future look like?
Organisations are a mirror of the level of consciousness of the people that create and operate such organisations.
As human consciousness evolves, organisations will also evolve. Some of the characteristics of higher level of consciousness are self-responsibility, integration of everything that is human, aka wholeness, and continuous evolution and expansion of purpose. Profit become less of a driver and impact becomes the new fuel.
This is beautifully put in the book "Reinventing Organizations" by Frederic Laloux, which portraits three common foundations of what he calls "Teal Organizations". Those pillars are in fact: self-responsibility, wholeness and evolutionary purpose. The organisations are structured and organised in a way that those foundations are promoted. It is an absolute game changer and a book I cannot stop recommending to anyone interested in management.
Something very interesting of all these organizations mentioned in this book is that they did not know about each other. They got where they are by their own evolution and inner processes. The processes were developed in-house, by tapping in the inspiration of their teams and led by great visionaries yet, they'll hold the same foundations. This says a lot about these organizations. They self-develop, there is no fit-for-all formula. These organizations develop if the right conditions and the right training is provided to the people in the organisation. All of them, because each employee is considered a potential sensor that can bring across the next breakthrough for the company.
These structures are based on trust, and in return, employees respond with high levels of self-responsibility and ownership, which also leads to an organisation where everyone is able to display their full potential. Moreover, no or little potential is lost in power games and inner conflicts, as there is a strong focus and training on conflict resolution.
The transition to such structures can be a smoother or harder journey depending on different factors, being the main ones the openness to change from employees from all levels and the conviction and commitment of management with the new direction.
Evolving organizations coaching might be for you or your organisation if:
-
You want to create a thriving company where employees bring the best of themselves to work.
-
You want to promote more ownership at work.
-
You are aware of the energy wasted in inconsistencies, power games and unresolved conflicts and want to transform that potential in growth.
-
You know there should be a different way to organise a company where going to work is something people look forward to.
-
You think that too much of what you do at work is not dedicated to bring value to your clients or stakeholders.
-
You wish to create a space where innovation and creativity flow and there is a sense of freshness in everything performed there.

Method
Evolving Organizations coaching consists of four pillars:
-
Individual coaching sessions.
-
Group coaching and dynamics sessions.
-
Group mentoring sessions.
-
Follow-up reports.
The framework used for Evolving Organizations coaching for individuals was created by Marc Steinberg. It is taught by Creative Consciousness Academy, and it is called "Consciousness Coaching". The unique point of this coaching method is the delivery of the "Awareness Creation Tools" which are tools that catalyse individuals in developing higher levels of consciousness and self-responsibility. The structure of the sessions is designed in a way that puts emphasis on the mental, physical and spiritual bodies despite the goal targeted for the session, offering a very holistic approach in the process of achieving everyone's goals. The goals set are around how to improve the current structure and bring improvement to each employee situation based on their own intuition so that the inner pathway of inspiration is trained.
Group coaching and dynamics puts emphasis in training the teams to be able to speak their truths and their insights in front of groups, and for the group to receive everyone's truth openly. As mentioned above, conflict resolution is a key topic that is also covered in Evolving Organizations coaching.
Group mentoring sessions offer inspiration and knowledge about potential pitfalls in the process and how to make the most out of them. They also offer insights and tools on how to develop structures that support the three pillars already exposed.
Follow-up reports are used in between periods of training and post-training to offer a space for self-reflection and integration of the new ways of operating.

My why
I have always been fascinated by the capacity of creation of a group of people working together. However, in every workplace I have been, the structures did not allow for my full expression and development. While a good deal of responsibility was mine, the truth is that none of those structures was designed to support the development of employees, not only as workforce, but as whole and integrated human being. When structures are fear based, they promote fear and control and little space for innovation and joy is left. Egos grow and the space for love and connection shrinks.
A few years ago I had a clear insight that the way organisations are working in general is just not sustainable. It might look like they do the job, but in my opinion, they are just scratching the surface of what's possible. Finding the book "Reinventing Organizations" was like a revelation for me. After reading it, I clearly knew that this was it. I am now highly passionate about supporting companies that are ready to bring about that change and explore the full potential of what a group of people can do working together.
